It is Tuesday, July 17th and at about 3:00am in the morning Nancy, Virginia and I were all up to make that flashlight lit walk to the buggy bathroom. The boat was docking. That was an event so we went up front to see what was happening. The captain used a spot light to find the right place to dock. He tied us to a tree for the night. I guess to get some rest. We have not stopped sailing at all until now and we were going at a very fast pace.
The Amazon sky was a black bucket full of stars. I even saw a shooting star. That was amazing. You could even see the entire milky way and the southern cross was very visible. After a few minute of star gazing and listening to the night animals I went back to bed. The sun would be rising all too soon. It is very loud at night in the Amazon. The frogs and insect calls is deafening.
The alarm went off at 6:00 and I was off to the shower in another attempt to have a shower with full force amazonian brown water. It was only a little more forceful. I will figure out the best time to take a shower! Breakfast was lots of fruit. Mini bananas fried picked from local trees, papaya, pineapple, eggs and bread. Of course we had the famous brazilian coffee, served hot and very sweet. Boy was that good! Now it was time to get ready for devotional in the eating room. Jonathas will give us the skinny on the day. I have already looked out over the water at the village. Wow. Wooden huts and thatched roofs. Some arrived in canoes to the right of the boat. I cannot wait!
